Dr Laura Di Nino

Dr. Laura Di Nino received her Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo in 1992.

In 1996, she received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. She opened her Optometric clinic in Markham in 2006 and her specialties include Dry Eyes and Full Scope Optometry.

Dr. Di Nino is currently an active member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists, the Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO), Eye Recommend, and has served on several committees of the OAO (including the Children's Vision Committee, Communication Task Force and Practice Management Committee) and has served as the Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the Vision Institute of Canada. She is the recipient of the World Sight Day Challenge Bronze Award 2012-2016 for support of Optometry Giving Sight Fundraiser.

Dr. Di Nino is fluent in Italian and can communicate in French and Spanish.

Dr. Di Nino was born in Toronto and grew up in King City, Ontario. She moved to Markham in 1998 and has worked and lived there since. When asked what made her specialize in her field, she said, "I have come across many patients with dry eye in practice and have found it rewarding to help these frustrated patients. My practice is a full scope practice. We care for the whole family from age 0-100 in providing compassionate care and quality eye wear."

Her favorite patient story is: "A new patient came in for a routine eye exam with 20/20 vision in each eye. During the eye health examination, she was found to have an ocular tumor with retinal detachment in one eye. She was referred urgently to ocular oncology and treated. One year later she returned with healthy eyes."

Outside of work, Dr. Di Nino spends time with her husband and two daughters traveling, skiing, cycling and hiking together.
